Whew! What a week! Glad it’s over until next year. Although it was on of the best HC Pep Rallies and the game was a blast, now we need to do some work in earnest!
This week offers some exciting challenges! Number 1: we have our first marching competition at the Midsouth Marching Band Festival in Gadsden, AL on Saturday, Sept. 27. The schedule is still pending but I do know that since we are in the large class we will probably perform later in the evening. I will let you know as soon as I find out. Number 2: we get to visit the brand new Helena HS on Friday evening! The bus will leave at 5:15 p.m. Students can stay after school on Friday. Please make your own arrangements for food after school/before we leave for the ballgame. We will be wearing our uniforms on the bus as it is local and only about 20 minutes away from Chelsea. Please make sure that you sign the bus list on the white board. It will double for the game on Friday evening and for the competition on Saturday. Field Show t-shirt under our uniform coats for both events.
Our schedule for this week is:
Monday – Marching Band practice - 3:30-5:30
Show Choir musicians – 5:30-6:30
Tuesday – Marching Band practice – 3:30-5:30
Percussion Sectional – 5:30-7:00
Leadership Team Meeting – 5:30-6:30
Show Choir Musicians w/Show Choir - 5:30-7:00
Thursday – Marching Band – 3:30-5:30
Friday – Football Game @ Helena – Bus leaves @ 5:15 p.m.
Saturday – Midsouth Marching Band Festival – Gadsden, AL
Schedule – TBA
Also just a “side-note.”
The Wind Ensemble has been invited to play the National Anthem on opening night for the Shriner’s Circus at the Pelham Civic Center on Thursday evening, Nov. 13 at 7:00 p.m. We will be taking two buses there and back on that evening. More details to follow.
